&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 63.62 points to 23,779.62 on turnover of HK$69.97 billion ($8.99 billion).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;In Shanghai, the Composite Index rose 1.49 percent as gains in resource stocks outweighed losses in the real estate sector, dealers said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 40.34 points at 2,749.15 on turnover of 115.2 billion yuan ($17.5 billion).&lt;/p&gt;
