Melting of snow triggers flood in upper valleys

HUNZA: Extreme temperature in the upper valleys caused melting of snow triggered floodwater which badly affected several villages here Wednesday.

According to police control room the villages including Fihkar, Upper Nagar, Nilt, Sikander Abad and Nasir Abad were badly affected by the torrential floodwater which swept dozens of houses and trees.

District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) warned the local people to keep themselves away from the flooded streams and rivers.
