ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 79pc of Pakistanis think inflation has increased in the last three months; 46pc reduced spending in order to deal with it.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked "In your opinion, in the last three months, has inflation increased, decreased or remained the same?" Responding to this, 79pc said it has increased, 7pc said it has decreased and 14pc said it has remained the same.
The respondents were also asked "What steps have you taken to deal with inflation?" Responding to this, 46pc said they reduced spending, 23pc said they attempted to increase their incomes and 30pc said they started using cheaper, inexpensive items. However, 1pc did not give a response.
