KARACHI: The 1994 slapstick comedy, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ starring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan is reported to hit screens again with its sequel expected the third week of December.
According to Indian media sources, Rajkumar Santoshi, the director of the cult classic was approached by Vinay Kumar Sinha, the producer of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ to revive the project. Filming is reportedly set to begin after Rajkumar Santoshi wraps up shooting on ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’ starring Shahid Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Katrina Kaif.
Though the cast has yet to be finalized, Vinay Kumar is reportedly making an effort to get the original cast back on board, “We will be discussing the project with Aamir and Salman. It would be great if that works out. Otherwise, we'll sign up some other actors to play the lead."
"People were asking me to do a sequel ever since the film became a hit. At that time, I was not too sure, if the Indian audience is ready for a second part. But, now the time is ripe. Remakes and sequels are in vogue,” Vinay Kumar was quoted as saying when announcing the project.
