  • NAB has also filed a reference against Yousuf Raza Gilani in the fake accounts case.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed on Monday fresh references against former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif, Yousuf Raza Gilani and former president Asif Ali Zardari in the fake accounts case.

The reference said that Gilani in connivance with Zardari and Sharif, illegally relaxed the procedure for the acceptance and disposal of gifts. According to the reference, Zardari, during his tenure as president accepted and received vehicles as gifts from the United Arab Emirates and Libya.

The reference further stated that the former president neither reported the gifted vehicles nor submitted them to the Toshakhana, local media reported. It added that Zardari paid only 15 percent price of the car through the Omni Group CEO Anwar Majid.

NAB has also claimed that Sharif was given a car from the Toshakhana in 2008 despite the fact that he did not hold any public office.
