Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan has refuted rumors of Afghan Taliban delegation meeting PM Imran Khan on Thursday.

The SAPM took to her official twitter handle and clarified that the news regarding the PM holding a meeting with co-founder of the Taliban Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, along with his delegation, is incorrect.

She further said that meeting between Taliban leaders at the Foreign Ministry was a good omen for reconciliation process.

In their meeting on Thursday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Taliban leaders agreed that Afghanistan peace talk process halted by the United States last month should resume as soon as possible.

Inter-Services Intelligence Director General Lt General Faiz Hameed, Foreign Affairs Secretary Sohail Mahmood and other FO officials were present for the meeting.
