DAR ES SALAAM: Tanzania's gross domestic product grew 6.6pc year-on-year in the first quarter of 2019, compared with 7.5pc in the same period a year earlier, weighed by slower growth in the construction, agriculture and manufacturing sectors, data showed on Sunday.
The state-run National Bureau of Statistics said in a report the construction sector grew 13.2pc in January to March, compared with 15.6pc a year ago.
Construction is the biggest driver of GDP growth in East Africa's third-largest economy.
