Pakistan earn millions despite failing to make it into World Cup semis

Despite failing to make into the semifinal stage of the ICC World Cup 2019, Pakistan will get $320,000 (Rs50.9 million) from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

According to ICC rules, with every match won, the team will get $40,000 and will receive $20,000 for every abandoned or tied match.

The national cricket team failed to make into the semifinals stage of the tournament by the slightest of margins. However, they did manage to win five matches in the World Cup while their match with Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain.

Allowing Pakistan to mint $300,000 from its victories, while adding $20,000 million from the tied match, the team has overall accumulated $320,000 from the tournament.

Whereas, for the champions of the World Cup, the champion side will be given $4 million alongside the World Cup trophy, whereas the runner-up team will be given $2 million. The teams lost in the semifinal will get $800,000 each.
