Deferring the indictment of Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz in Ramzan Sugar Mills case, an accountability court on Saturday has adjourned the hearing till March 27.

The Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) president and his son appeared before the court amid strict security. The duty magistrate presided over today's hearing as Judge Syed Najamul Hassan Bokhari was on leave. The magistrate adjourned the hearing till March 27 and allowed Shehbaz and Hamza to leave, local media reported.

Speaking to the media outside the court, the PML-N president said that Nawaz Sharif's health is critical and if anything happened to the former prime minister, then the government will be held accountable.

The National Accountability Bureau has accused Shehbaz of using public funds for the construction of a bridge linking to their mills in Chiniot, Punjab. During the previous hearing, the court had handed over the copies of the reference in Ramzan Sugar Mills to Shahbaz and Hamza.

The opposition leader has already been indicted in the Ashiana Housing scheme case for corruption. The Lahore High Court has granted bail to the PML-N president.
