Quetta Gladiators clinches comfortable win against Islamabad United

Quetta Gladiators won by 43 runs after Islamabad United only managed 137 for the loss of nine wickets in their innings, at the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) fourth edition on Tuesday, at Abu Dhabi. 

Fawad Ahmed got the first wicket for Gladiators, picking up Cameron Delport who got stumped by Sarfaraz Ahmed on 25. The leggie striked again after he bowled PD Salt on 2.

Off spinner Mohammad Nawaz bowled Asif Ali on naught.  Fawad got the important wicket of Luke Ronchi, the one man guiding the ship of Islamabad on 64, after he was caught by Shane Watson at short fine leg.

Speedster Hasnain grabbed the wicket of Samit Patel on 14, after he edged it straight into the hands of Sarfraz Ahmed. Hasnain striked again picking up the wicket of Faheem Ashraf on 2.

Sohail Tanvir dismissed Shadab Khan on 8, after he was caught by DJ Bravo. Tanvir picked his second, after he got the wicket of Amad Butt on naught. Bravo bowled Rizwan on 7.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators post 180-9 at the end of their inning against Islamabad United.

Ahmed Shehzad was the top scorer with a knock of 73 off 46 deliveries. Whereas, United's Faheem Ashraf was the pick of the bowler with figures of 4-18 in his spell of three overs, Amad Butt picked up three wickets for 40 runs.

Samit Patel got the first breakthrough of Shane Watson after he got caught by Faheem Ashraf on 15.  Azam Khan was caught on 12 by wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi off Faheem Ashraf delivery.

Rossouw departed back to the pavilion on 23, after a running catch from wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan off Zafar Gohar delivery.

Umar Akmal was bowled on 27 off Amad Butt delivery. Butt then picked up the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad who departed after a fine innings of 73, after he was caught at long on by Shadab Khan. the youngster picked his third victim in the last over of Fawad Ahmed on naught.

Faheem Ashraf striked with three wickets in the penultimate over, Sarfraz Ahmed was first to fall after he was caught by Amad Butt on 1, DJ Bravo followed the very next legal delivery and was caught on naught by Samit Patel. Sohail Tanvir was the third to follow on naught, after a fantastic review from Faheem confirmed that Tanvir edged it to Luke Ronchi.

Earlier, Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field first against Quetta Gladiators.
