ANF seizes 3212kg drugs worth Rs2.648bn in 29 operations

RAWALPINDI: During special campaign against drug traffickers launched on directions of the Director General Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Major General Muhammad Arif Malik, ANF Pakistan has seized 3212.446 kg Narcotics worth Rs 2.468 billion in international market, arrested 31 accused including two foreigner, three females, impounded 10 vehicles while conducting 29 counter-narcotic strikes throughout the country.

According to an ANF spokesman, the seized drugs comprised of 3170.7 kg Hashish, 10.4 kg Opium, 17.26 kg Heroin, 9.915 kg Methamphetamine and 4.171 kg Amphetamine.

ANF Quetta recovered 2810 kg Hashish from general area of Killi Damam, Tehsil Gulistan, District Qila Abdullah. In another operation, ANF Quetta recovered 210 kg Hashish from general area of Ter Gill, Tehsil Dalbandin, District Chagai. In third operation, ANF Quetta arrested Muhammad Ramzan and Asadullah both resident of Jaffarabad near Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zahid Medical Complex, Mastung Road, Quetta and recovered 16.8 kg Hashish from their personal possession. In fourth operation, ANF Quetta arrested Javed Akhtar r/o Peshawar from Quetta International Airport and recovered 1.150 kg Amphetamine from two sweets boxes placed in his luggage.

ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a vehicle near Tarnol Phattak, GT Road, Islamabad and recovered 12 kg Hashish from the car. A person onboard Ajmal Shah r/o Peshawar was arrested at the spot. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested three females Sameena Bibi, Zareena Bibi and Noor Fatima (five years old) all r/o Chkwal from 26 No. Chungi, Bus Stop, GT Road, Islamabad and recovered 9.6 kg Hashish from their personal possession.

In third operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a pickup near Indus Chachi Hotel, Kashmir Highway, Islamabad and recovered 4.8 kg Hashish. Tahir Mehmood r/o Swabi was also arrested from the vehicle. In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a car from Chakwal Mor, Main GT Road, Sohawa, Jhelum and recovered 2.2 kg Hashish concealed in driving seat of the vehicle.

A person onboard Israr Ali r/o Rawalpindi was also arrested from the vehicle. In fifth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Babar Hussain r/o Rawalpindi from Islamabad International Airport and recovered 2.006 kg Amphetamine concealed in packing material of his travelling bag.

In sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Sabir Shah r/o Khyber Agency from Tarnol Phattak, GT Road, Islamabad and recovered one kg Hashish from his personal possession. In seventh operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Muhammad Sabir r/o Hangu from Islamabad International Airport and recovered 600 grams Hashish concealed in his trolley bag.

ANF Lahore intercepted a car near Sher Shah Toll Plaza, DG Khan-Quetta Road, Multan and recovered 4.5 kg Hashish from the vehicle. Three persons Muhammad Dilshad, Muhammad Fayyaz Anjum and Ghulam Mustafa, all r/o Lodhran were arrested from the vehicle during the operation. In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a car near Khanewal Toll Plaza, Multan Lahore Road, Khanewal and recovered 2.4 kg Hashish from secret cavities of the vehicle.

A person onboard Muhammad Asif r/o Okara was also apprehended during the operation. In third operation, ANF Lahore arrested a Nigerian National Kingsley Chima from Sialkot International Airport and recovered 420 grams Heroin concealed in his trolley bag. In fourth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a parcel from a courier service office at Lahore containing clay rollers and recovered 3.3 kg Heroin concealed in five clay rollers.

The parcel was booked from Sialkot and was destined to UK. In fifth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a parcel of gloves from a courier service office in Sialkot and recovered 630 grams Heroin concealed in it. The parcel was booked for UK. In sixth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a parcel from a courier service office at Cargo Complex, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 1.69 kg Heroin soaked in 36 Bukram Pieces. The parcel was being sent to Indonesia.

In an intelligence based operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted two cars near Kamboh Adda, Ring Road, Peshawar and recovered 7.2 kg Opium, 3.6 kg Heroin and 22.8 kg Hashish concealed in trunk of the intercepted vehicle. Two brothers Qurash and Amresh r/o Peshawar have also been arrested from the vehicle.

In another operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a car from Kohat and recovered 9.6 kg Hashish (eight packets) lying on rear seat of the vehicle. Two persons onboard Muhammad Asad and Tariq Mehmood both r/o Kohat were also arrested during the operation.

In third, intelligence based operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a car near Chamkani Bridge, GT Road, Peshawar and recovered 2.4 kg Opium and 10.8 kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities and dashboard of the vehicle.

A person onboard namely Sajjad Mehmood resident of Peshawar was also arrested during the operation. In fourth operation, ANF Peshawar arrested Sharif Ullah r/o Khyber Agency from Peshawar International Airport and recovered 2.6 kg Hashish concealed in two Sweet Boxes kept in luggage of the arrested accused.

In fifth, intelligence based operation, ANF Peshawar arrested Muhammad Yasir r/o Swabi from Main Bus Stop, GT Road, Jahangira, Nowshera and recovered 990 grams Heroin wrapped in cloth placed in his shoulder bags.

In sixth operation, ANF Peshawar arrested an Afghan National Khair-Ud-Din, Abdul Haseeb r/o Peshawar and Muhammad Faisal Shah r/o Upper Dir from Toyota Kyber, Ring Road, Peshawar and recovered 1.015 kg Amphetamine along with a 9mm pistol with 12 live rounds, one 30 bore pistol with 14 live rounds.

ANF Karachi conducted raids in different areas and recovered 800 grams opium, 33 kg Hashish, 18 kg hashish, 6.28 kg heroin, 2.9 kg methamphetamine, 6 kg methamphetamine, 1.015 kg methamphetamine and arrested five accused.

All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations were underway.
