Supreme Court to take ‘strict action’ if parents pay excess school fee
The Supreme Court (SC) issued on Thursday its written order to schools across the country to reduce their fee by 20 percent.
In its written judgment, the SC stated that its order on December 13, 2018 is applicable to all schools in the country. The order says that all schools in Pakistan who are charging above Rs5,000 monthly have to cut down their fee by 20 percent. The schools that are charging less than Rs5,000 monthly are not subjected to SC's order, local media reported.
The SC has warned schools of contempt of court if they send humiliating letters to parents. It has also warned the parents of strict action if they are found paying excess fee.
The apex court has also stopped schools from cutting down the salaries of its teachers. The order says that all scholarships or facilities provided to students shall remain intact and not be withdrawn.
