ISLAMABAD: People gathered at a local restaurant in Clifton to pay tribute to slain former MNA Ali Raza Abidi, who was gunned down by unknown men outside his residence on December 25.

People from all walks of life including friends, family members, colleagues and politicians came together to hold the vigil at the restaurant owned by Abidi, a private news channel reported on Sunday. Father of the former MNA, Ikhlaq Abidi, said that the murderers of his son are roaming freely and innocents are an easy target in the city.

“I had requested Ali to leave politics but he said that he helps people through political work,” said the former Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader’s father.

MQM-P leader Faisal Sabzwari said at the same place some time ago they held a vigil for the martyrs of Army Public School, holding candles along with Ali Raza Abidi. “Now we are here to pay tribute to Abidi himself.”

All the attendees of the vigil urged the government and law enforcing agencies to nab the culprits and put them behind bars.
