Fawad takes notice of dilapidated condition of historical Gurdwara in Jehulm

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Hussain Chaudhry Saturday took notice of the dilapidated condition of a historical building of Sikh Gurdwara in Jehulm.

The minister, in a statement issued here, has directed the departments concerned to examine the building and prepare a plan for its conservation and renovation.

He noted that religious buildings were not only part of historical heritage, but was also an important element of the cultural asset, adding that safety of such historical sites was our social and moral responsibility .

The minister said the Gurdwara’s rehabilitation and renovation would provide a chance to Sikh community, living across the globe, to visit their religious places in Pakistan. “Such steps will also help promote interfaith harmony,” he concluded.
