The ongoing series between Pakistan and South Africa is bound to have serious consequences on the ICC’s Test ranking, with both teams eyeing to improve their standings.
The scenario in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Team Rankings is interestingly poised with top-ranked India currently playing in Australia, while New Zealand engaged in a series against Sri Lanka and now South Africa plying three Tests against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Proteas that are currently placed third, has the opportunity to leapfrog England to second place if they whitewash the series.
However, the Proteas also face the danger of being overtaken by their rivals Pakistan and slipping to sixth place, if the result goes vice vera.
