KIEV: The International Monetary Fund's executive board will consider its final approval of a loan deal for Ukraine on December 18, according a schedule of directors' meetings published on the Fund's site.

Kiev and the IMF staff reached a preliminary agreement on a new $3.9 billion stand-by programme in October. The IMF said it would disburse the money after Ukraine meets its commitments on raising gas prices and passing a balanced 2019 budget.

The new 14-month IMF deal aims to help Ukraine maintain financial stability and the trust of investors as it heads into a choppy election period next year.
