ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeem ul Haq Thursday said Azam Sawati tendered his resignation to the prime minister after the Supreme Court has started proceeding of a case against him.
Talking to a private news channel, Naeem ul Haq said "The resignation of Azam Sawati is a true example of Naya Pakistan, where no one can hold public office, who has cases against him in the courts."
He said the prime minister has accepted his resignation keeping in view the pending court's cases against him.
Naeem ul Haq said the government would implement the court decision whether it come in favour or against him.
Replying to a question, he said if the court decision comes in the favour of Azam Sawati, he would again the part of federal cabinet and adding the PTI government would obey and implement the court's decision.
