PESHAWAR: President Dr Arif Alvi and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman Friday exchanged views on development measures, law and order situation and public welfare projects in tribal districts here at Governor House.
The Governor informed the President about measures taken by the provincial government for welfare of the tribal people and development projects in tribal districts. The tribal people were main focus of attention of KP government as the entire world looked at their sacrifices in war against terrorism with respect and regard.
The governor said that peace has restored in tribal belt due to sacrifices of tribal people and security forces, adding the main thrust of merger of tribal districts into KP was to bring them into mainstream of the national development.
The consultations with the tribal elders were underway for evolving a consensual administrative and legal framework to put in place in erstwhile FATA.
The President had arrived here on a two-day visit and was received by KP Governor and cabinet members here at Governor House.
