The Supreme Court (SC) rejected on Thursday a review petition seeking the disqualification of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar, took up the review petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Hanif Abbasi. In his petition, Abbasi had appealed the apex court to review its judgment which declared Khan as ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’. He said that Khan had not disclosed his assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

During the hearing today, Abbasi was not represented on behalf of his lawyer Akram Sheikh, where he said that the documents that PM Khan had provided were not verified. The bench replied that it is their decision to decide about the documents. It added that the documents that Khan presented were acceptable and the court was satisfied with them.

The bench dismissed the review petition saying that the petitioner's argument does not carry weight, local media reported.
