MANAGUA: At least two people died Tuesday in an attack by pro-government forces on an opposition stronghold in Nicaragua where people are demanding the ouster of President Daniel Ortega, a rights group told AFP.
"There are two deaths: an adult woman and a police officer" in the city of Masaya, south of the country's capital, said the head of the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights, Vilma Nunez.
She said the situation in Masaya's flashpoint district of Monimbo was "terrible."
