NAB plans to take Nawaz, Maryam to Islamabad on helicopter
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will be taking deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to Islamabad on helicopter as soon as they land in Lahore on July 13.
According to local media reports, Director General NAB Punjab Saleem Shahzad had written to the NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal requesting them to provide a helicopter to transfer Nawaz and Maryam to Islamabad on their arrival in Lahore on Friday.
NAB asked for the provision of a helicopter as the situation in Lahore may deteriorate as a rally will be held by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on the return of the father-daughter duo. NAB in their letter wrote that due to the rally it would be difficult to transfer Nawaz and Maryam.
On Tuesday, addressing a public gathering in Bhawal, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif urged people to reach Lahore on July 13 to welcome the party Quaid Nawaz. PML-N has also directed party workers to give a historic welcome to Nawaz and Maryam on their return to Pakistan.
