31000 to perform Hajj from KP this year
PESHAWAR: At least 31000 people will perform Hajj through Government and Private schemes from Khyber Pakthunkhwa this year, said Director Hajj KP, Shakeel Sethi here Thursday.
This was stated by him during a high-level meeting convened to deliberate on different problems which hujjaj could face during their departure and its amicable solutions here at Directorate Hajj, Peshawar.
Senior officials of Police, PIA, Civil Aviation Authority, Anti Narcotics Force, PTCL, Pakistan Customs, Airport Security Force, Health, Banks and District Administration attended the meeting.
Shakeel Sethi said process of confirmation through biometric system has been started and would be completed by July 4.
Sethi said the centre will also remain open on Sunday, adding special counters for vaccination of intending pilgrims at Hajji Camp would be setup. Keeping in view of existing security situation, he said, special care would be made on security arrangements and appealed people to cooperate with security forces. All facilities would be provided to pilgrims, he added.
The Peshawar Development Authority was directed to conduct fumigation spray near Haji camp and adjoining roads two times in a day.
The meeting was told that special Hajj flight operation from KP will commence from July 15 through PIA, Saudi Air and Air Blue for the holy land.
