Tokyo: Tokyo stocks closed higher on Wednesday helped by a cheaper yen, as market focus shifted from the US-North Korea summit to US and European central bank meetings this week.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.38 percent, or 88.03 points, to close at 22,966.38, while the broader Topix index was up 0.42 percent, or 7.55 points, at 1,800.37.
