Caretaker CM visits Food Authority, appreciates its work

PESHAWAR: Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (Retd) Dost Muhammad visited the KP Food Authority Peshawar and had a round of different sections of the authority.

He appreciated the provincial administration for the establishment of an office within a short span of time. The DG Food Authority Riaz Khan Mahsud gave briefing to the Caretaker Chief Minister. He appreciated the working of the DG for putting the newly established department on innovative lines.

Dost Muhammad lamented the condemnable attitude of certain elements having lust for mundane earnings ignoring totally the ethical consideration of both Islamic teachings and market values.

The substandard food is a crime that could not be forgiven. We need to have the strategy for the monitoring of prices and provision of standardized food in the market. If we succeeded in ensuring the provision of quality food in the market it will automatically reduce the rush in the hospitals.

He said every individual trader has to think over it that can he consume the food items that he is selling to others. It is total negation to the Allah’s Almighty Commandments of serving the people and protecting their rights. Allah Almighty would never forgive such a heinous crime adding that a substandard think masked in a beautiful packing was a delusion and another kind of cheating.

He called upon the concerned quarters to keep a vigil on the whole-sellers supplying providing and selling substandard food items to villages and nab them sending them behind the bar adding that the authority should establish a camp office fully equipped in the summer season in the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa developed on tourism lines.

The caretaker government wanted a clean and clear environment and provision of standardized food items so that the province moves ahead with the clear laid down vision that nothing would be compromised in the provision of relief to the poor segment of the society.

He assured that the elements selling substandard food items would be apprehended and the traders giving better performance would be rewarded with certificates and cash awards. He assured that incentives would be given to the whistle blowers giving information about an expected wrongdoing as well.

He expressed his concern over the contaminated water and substandard food items and spurious drugs easily available in the market and directed to take action against the criminals. It is more regrettable that when the bread earners of a family fill ill because of the substandard food and other items that create a lot of burden for the whole of the family.

Our religion and our Holy Book Quran enjoins upon the clear and standardized food items adding that the traders trading quality food and other materials become famous within no time and therefore his business keep on growing.

He assured to take curative steps for controlling the prices of essential commodities of daily use well before the Eidul Fitr.
