ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR) received only 30 percent funds of the total amount allocated for its new and ongoing projects in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), for the fiscal year 2017-18 till June 1.
The government has earmarked Rs 306 million for its six projects among which the ministry utilize only 91 million in the prescribed time period.
The ministry remained failed to get a single penny for its two major projects “Acquisition of Land and Construction of Building for National Institute of Human Rights”, Islamabad and “Construction of Working Women Hostel, G-6/2 and G-7/3, Islamabad with the reserved amount of Rs. 112 million and Rs. 88 million respectively, official sources told APP.
While Rs. 16 million was released for “Establishment of National Institute of Human Rights, Islamabad,” among the total allocated amount of Rs 27 million during this time span, they said.
They further informed that Rs. 9.25 million was issued for “Implementation of Action Plan for Human Rights in Pakistan” among the total amount of Rs 12 million earmarked for the project.
The ministry has utilized total funds for two of its projects, “Helpline for Legal Advice on Human Rights Violations, Islamabad” and “Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Human Rights” allocating an amount of Rs. 36.3 million and Rs. 30 million respectively during the said time duration.
