UK trade delegation to visit Pakistan
KARACHI: On an invitation of the Federal of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), a high profile trade delegation of the United Kingdom -- led by Chief Executive Officer of Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, London, Richard Burge will visit Pakistan in August or October 2018 to explore avenues for promoting bilateral trade and investment.
This was informed by Richard Burge to President, FPCCI, Ghazanfar Bilour who called in him in London, said a statement issued here by the FPCCI on Tuesday.
In the meeting, they discussed the issues relating to trade and industry, and strengthening of economic relationship among the commonwealth countries.
Bilour, who is on a visit to London to attend Commonwealth Investment Forum, emphasized on expediting networking amongst the business community of Commonwealth countries.
He also briefed about the potential investment opportunities in Pakistan and the incentives to foreign investors.
Richard Burge informed the President FPCCI that Commonwealth was planning its business delegation's visit to Saudi Arabia which has shown interest in making investment of trillions of dollars in the Commonwealth countries.
The CEO Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council also invited the FPCCI President to join the Commonwealth delegation to Saudi Arabia and constitute a Pakistani delegation of 5 to 10 businessmen who might be interested in making joint ventures with Saudi companies in Pakistan in potential sectors.
It was also agreed that the FPCCI would organize a single country exhibition in the United Kingdom with the support of Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.
Earlier, the President, FPCCI accompanied by FPCCI Vice Presidents Zahid Saeed and Atif Ikram, and Secretary General of FPCCI Dr. Iqbal Thaheem attended the inauguration ceremony of Commonwealth Business Forum.
British Prime Minister Theresa May was the chief guest.
