Man killed in road accident, brother injured
HAFIZABAD: A man was killed and his brother sustained serious injuries in a road mishap.
A also butcher allegedly committed suicide and a dumper truck was reduced to ashes due to a fire near here on Sunday.
According to police source, Hasnain Mukhtar, along with his brother Rajab Mukhtar, was on his way to his village on a motorbike when a speeding van hit them.
As a result, both received critical injuries.
They were shifted to a local hospital from where they were referred to a Lahore hospital where Hasnain Mukhtar succumbed to his injuries while Rajab was struggling for his life.
The van driver sped away after the mishap. The police have registered a case against the van driver.
According to a police source, a butcher Khalid, son of Muhammad Bashir, committed suicide by stabbing himself with a knife in his shop in Hanjranwanwala village due to sheer frustration owing to strained relations with his wife.
He was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last.
A dumper truck No 8434 was burnt to ashes when a fire erupted due to leakage of fuel tank near Rahgo Syedan. Rescue-1122 rushed to the spot, but the vehicle was reduced to ashes by then.
