Chichawatni locals observe strike over rape, murder of minor girl

A shutter-down strike is being observed today by the locals in Chichawatni, Punjab, after a minor girl was found raped, with burn injuries on her body.
The strike is being observed as the locals have appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to take notice of this incidence, local media reported.
Noor Fatima, an eight-year-old primary student, went missing and did not return home, after which her family started searching for her. She was later found unconscious and her body had burn injuries. She was immediately rushed to a hospital but the girl succumbed to her injuries.
According to postmortem report, Noor was raped and set ablaze by her murderers. The suspects thought the girl has died and had left her. A suspect has been taken into custody by the police.
