LAHORE: French Ambassador to Pakistan Mark Barety called on Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana and discussed national and international issues, measures to enhance bilateral trade and matters of mutual interest during a meeting at the Governor's House here on Thursday.

Talking to the French diplomat, the governor said Pakistanis are a determined and iron-nerved nation who is the champion of relations with their neighbours in the region on parity. He said every Pakistani has been in the vanguard of the war against terror for the past twelve years.

Rajwana said war against terror was not merely Pakistan's war rather it was the war of the world, adding that all countries will have to get united against the menace of terrorism.

He said the human, economic and financial sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war against terror were quite apparent before the world.

The governor said Pakistan wished to enhance economic and trade ties with the friendly countries, adding that France was on the preferential list of the countries. He said the current government had adopted investor friendly policies.

He said Pakistan offered immense trade opportunities to the French businessmen.

French ambassador Mark Barety expressed the resolve to enhance cooperation with Pakistan in the economic sector, adding that France government wanted to increase bilateral trade ties between the two countries.

The French diplomat said Pakistan was a safe country and he was immensely delighted to be in Pakistan.
