ISLAMABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Masood Khan Monday said Kashmiris must be granted right to self determination in accordance with resolutions of United Nations General Assembly resolutions.

Addressing a seminar titled “ Role of students in granting right of self determination to Kashmiris,” arranged by Kashmiri Students of Federal Urdu University, he said United Nations has already accepted granting right to self determination to Kashmiris and the just right of Kashmiris still intact and they are anxious to get freedom from India.

He said the cricket teams chanted slogans in favour of Pakistan and hoisting Pakistan flags before playing the match recently in Occupied Kashmir was apprehended by Indian forces.                                 He said congress leaders had accepted recently the need to resolve the Kashmir issue and they suggested withdrawing Indian army from Kashmir and resolving the issue by holding talks.

He said Indian forces were dividing the Kashmiris with the aim to make them weak. Indian Prime Minister had recently challenged Pakistan to divide Kashmiris and spreading unrest in Balochistan province.

He said India do not want to include Kashmiris in core issue that was why Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz was not allowed to meet the leadership of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC).

India was brutally killing the Kashmiris in occupied valley, making hundreds of Kashmiris homeless and disrespecting hundreds of Kashmiri women, he said adding that India was incarcerating the innocent Kashmiris and torturing them. Indian jails were depleted with Kashmiris.

On the contrary, he said Pakistan has provided basic amenities of life to Kashmiris.

He said Kashmiris were not terrorists but such activities were being continued by RSS and Indian Army, who are involved in brutalities on Kashmiris in Indian held Kashmir.

Kashmirs would never accept defeat despite Indian brutalities; he said adding that 85 percent literacy ratio was prevailing in Azad Kashmir which is highest among all cities of the country. Various universities have already been established in Azad Kashmir. In the coming years, AJK would be self sufficient in all fields.

Addressing on the occasion, leader of the House in Senate, Raja Zafarul Haq said the main aim of conference was to acquaint young generation about the issue of Kashmir. He urged the youth to work hard.

Former Indian Prime Minister Rajeev Ghandi had accepted Kashmir as disputed territory. Pakistanis were unanimous on making Kashmir as integral part of the country.

He urged youth to disseminate message of Kashmiris on social media and acquaint the world about the issue. Kashmirs have offered unmatched sacrifices for winning freedom from Indian clutches.

Convener APHC (J&K) Ghulam Muhammad Safi said Kashmiris consider themselves as Pakistanis. Indians were portraying themselves as Pakistani agents but India should know very well about the feelings of Kashmiris.

Highlighting Indian brutalities against Kashmiris, he said India had apprehended cricket team of Kashmirs on charges of chanting pro Pakistan slogans and hoisting Pakistani flags in ground.

Meanwhile, a resolution was unanimously adopted demanding to make Kashmir integral part of Pakistan.
