imageKARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari met with Dr Asim Hussain currently undergoing medical treatment at Jinnah Hospital under the custody of law enforcement agencies after threatening the government of street protests on Tuesday.

Facing allegations of terrorism for treating terrorists in his hospital in the Sindh capital, Dr Asim Hussain has been under custody for over a year despite the PPP having its government in the province.

The party has alleged that Dr Asim, a friend of former president Asif Zardari, is being politically victimised and the federal government wants him to become an approver in a number of corruption cases against other PPP leaders.

Addressing a press conference today, Bilawal said his party would come out on the streets if the government failed to meet the PPPs four demands by the December 27 deadline.

The government is not making fun of us, it is mocking the entire nation, Bilawal Bhutto said. We are not requesting the government we will see to it that our demands are met, he added.

Bilawal claimed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had hidden money stolen from the nation abroad. The PPP chairman further said Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was not answerable and was not ready to come to the parliament.

Bilawal said if Lahores budget is compared to that of the rest of Punjab, injustice would be clearly visible. He added that peace and security situation in Punjab was deteriorating.

Bilawals four demands to government are

1. Parliamentary committee on national security be formed

2. PPPs Panama bill should be passed

3. Asif Zardaris resolution on CPEC should be implemented

4. A foreign minister should be appointed immediately

The PPP chief concluded the press saying he would announce his future strategy on December 27.
