imageISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) does not believe in the politics of victimization.

Talking to media, he said the word `victimization' has no existence in the political dictionary of the PM. The politics of 90s has been buried for ever and it will remain so.

Responding to a recent statement of Asif Ali Zardari, the minister said Zardari was enjoying the respect as former President and co-chairman of Pakistan People's Party.

However, he said Zardari's statement might be the result of any misunderstanding as PML-N neither did the politics of victimization, nor was doing and will not do in future.

He said that politics of victimization could never be associated with the Prime Minister.

Pervaiz Rashid expressed the confidence that the time would prove that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has never indulged in politics of victimization, and Asif Zardari would realize it soon.

Regarding the arrest of former Minister Dr Asim Hussain, he said the Prime Minister had already sought report of the matter even before the issuance of the statement of Asif Ali Zardari and the report would be received soon.

Hopefully, after this media talk, the misunderstandings with the PPP would end, he added.

Now, the minister said no body can think of doing politics of victimization as judiciary was independent.

Replying to a question, Pervaiz Rashid said all cases were in the courts and the present government had instituted no new case against any politician. The government after assuming power, never filed cases against anybody, he added.

To a question, the minister said that it was the beauty of democratic process that the elected government was bound to face opposition' criticism patiently. The government had tolerated the harsh language of the opposition with patience for six month.

Commenting the on-going Zarb-e-Azb and Karachi operation, he said it was a `collective decision' of the nation, and "we all are with the Pakistan Army."

To another question about Imran Khan's recent demand of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members' resignations, the minister said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief wanted to flee from the bye-elections after the PML-N announced to go to people's court.

After resignations of the members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the body would stand incomplete and cause delay in initiating the election process, he added.

"That is what, the PTI chief wants so that he can continue with his blame game."

He said it was the same election commission that conducted various bye-polls, local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and all were accepted by Imran Khan.

Pervaiz Rashid said the PTI chief was in the habit of leveling baseless allegations and kept changing his targets; sometimes he targets former Chief Justice (retd) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, former Supreme Court Justice (retd) Khalil ur Ramday, former caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi and sometimes a section of media and now the ECP members.
