imageHYDERABAD: The former defence minister and a leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Syed Naveed Qamar submitted his nomination form on Sunday to contest the election from NA-222 constituency in Tando Muhammad Khan district.

Qamar was elected as a Member of the National Assembly for 5 times from this constituency, since 1990 general elections on PPP ticket.

The other candidates of PPP who submitted the forms on Sunday include Syed Aijaz Shah Bukhari for PS-53 and Abdul Kareem Soomro for PS 54.

The forms were also submitted by Pakistan Muslim League-Functional's (PML-F) Mir Inayat Talpur, Pir Sajjad Jan Sarhindi and Ghulam Mustafa Lashari, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Muhammad Iqbal Nizamani, Jamiat-e-Ulema-e- Islam- FazlurRehman's (JUI-F) Maulana Ramzan Soomro and many independent candidates for PS-53.

Similarly, for PS-54 constituency the forms were submitted by Nayyara Sultana of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pir Sajjad Jan Sarhindi, Maulana Abdul Rashid Loond of JUI-F, Atique Ali Loond of PML-N and Bashir Ahmed Shah of Sindh United Party, besides several independent candidates.

Syeda Waheeda Shah Bukhari, who put herself on the map by slapping the female polling staff during the Feb 2012 by-elections in PS-53 constituency, has reportedly been denied the ticket of PPP.

She submitted the nomination form in an independent capacity as her supporters protested against Syed Aijaz Shah Bukhari who has been given the PPP ticket for PS-53.
