SEOUL: South Korea's nuclear watchdog said on Thursday it has approved the construction of two nuclear power plants that were authorised by the government in 2014.
The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission backed the construction of the Shin Kori No. 5 and No. 6 reactors, in the city of Ulsan, about 410 km (255 miles), southeast of Seoul, after reviewing safety standards.
It said the reactors would be completed as scheduled by March 2021 and March 2022, respectively.
