WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama spoke with Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan on Monday about recent protests in Ankara, including "the importance of non-violence" and the right to assemble, according to the White House.
Obama and Erdogan, in a phone call on Monday, also discussed the situation in Syria, "including the regime's use of chemical weapons against its own people," the White said in a statement on Tuesday.
