MILAN: Italian defence group Finmeccanica said on Wednesday its Alenia Aermacchi unit had won a $140 million contract to provide logistical support for 30 of its advanced trainer aircraft ordered last year by the Israeli Ministry of Defence.
In a statement Finmeccanica said the contract had been awarded by Elbit Systems
The support services which include the supply, maintenance and overhaul of spare parts for 30 Israeli M-346 aircraft will be performed jointly with Elbit Systems.
Delivery of the first M-346 is expected in the middle of 2014, Finmeccanica said.
