HANOI: Vietnam posted a trade deficit of $51.5 million in June, compared with an initial government estimate of a deficit of $200 million, Vietnam Customs said on Tuesday.
Exports in June were $12,378.4 million, down 0.2 percent from the previous month, while imports fell 2.7 percent from May to $12,429.9 million, the Customs Department, which is part of the Finance Ministry, said on its website .
In June 2013, Vietnam had a trade deficit of $287 million, according to government figures. In May this year, there was a trade deficit of $369 million.
