LONDON: Britain's new government needs to review all the details of a project to build two nuclear reactors at Hinkley Point before making a decision in the autumn, a government spokeswoman said on Friday.
The board of French utility EDF narrowly voted to proceed with a project to build Britain's first new nuclear plant in decades on Thursday.
Britain's new Business and Energy Secretary Greg Clark said the government would make its decision in the early autumn.
"We do have a new government and they need to review all the details," a spokeswoman for the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy said.
"It is only right we look at the details before making a decision," she added.
