BERLIN: Deutsche Lufthansa AG will cancel almost all domestic and European flights from six German airports on Thursday morning due to a labour strike, a spokesman for the airline said.
Routes affected are from Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Duesseldorf and Cologne, he said. Lufthansa aims for most intercontinental flights to take off, he said.
German union Verdi has called on 33,000 Lufthansa workers to go on strike on Thursday to increase pressure on the airline in a dispute over wages and job security.
The union has said the strike would likely last for five hours from 0500 local time (0400 GMT).
