Bullish sentiments dominate LSE

Business Recorder Logo Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday and the equities registered gains across the board amid fresh buying in ready board shares.

The LSE-25 index jumped to 3143.96 against 3019.94 of last Friday, denoting an improvement of 124.02 points while transaction volume was marginally decreased to 3.412 million shares as compared to previous volume of 3.473 million shares.

The market opened on a healthy sign and kept on staying in positive zone throughout the day.

The investors made fresh entries in the ready board shares while buying in blue chips pushed the index by over 100 points.

The oil, fertiliser and banking sectors played a key role in keeping the market in bullish zone.

As a result, Pakistan Oilfields, PSO, Attock Refinery, MCB Bank, Habib Bank, National Bank, Bank Alfalah, Silk Bank, Bank of Punjab, Fauji Fertiliser, and Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim registered considerable gains.

Lotte Pakistan PTA, D G Khan Cement, Lucky Cement and Lafarge Pakistan Cement also performed well.

However, First Capital Equities and Hira Textiles ended in red zone.

The advancing stocks were ahead of the declining ones.

Of 103 active companies, 49 posted gains, 2 went down, while 52 companies remained unchanged at their previous closing levels.

Pakistan Oilfields gained Rs 9.00, MCB Bank was appreciated by Rs 7.99, Fauji Fertiliser was improved by Rs 7.41 while PSO and Attock Refinery were down by Rs 6.42 and Rs 5.86 respectively.

On the contrary, First Capital Equities lost Rs 5.45 and Hira Textile Mills was declined by 15-paisa.

Bank of Punjab was the market leader whose 678,695 shares changed hands followed by Lotte Pakistan PTA with 455,330 shares.
