BRASILIA: US drummer Bradford Lee Parker of the Generation Esmeralda band died of a heart attack during a concert in the southeastern Brazilian city of Uba, one of the producers for the group said Monday.
Sergio Lopes, a producer for the group in Brazil, told the Gl news portal that the 59-year-old Parker died Sunday in the Minas Gerais state city.
Television pictures showed the moment when Parker collapsed on his instrument. The show was interrupted and he was rushed to hospital.
"Doctors performed all the emergency procedures but unfortunately there was no solution," Lopes said.
Parker's body was to be flown back to California in the next few hours, G1 said.
Generation Esmeralda is a disco group formed by ex-members of Santa Esmeralda, a franco-US band of the 1970's.
