ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Cabinet on Tuesday expressed total solidarity with prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and highly appreciated the stand taken by him to uphold cause of the constitution and democracy in the country.
Members of the Balochistan Cabinet led by the Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here at Prime Minister House.
The Chief Minister and the Cabinet members said they have come all the way from Quetta to Islamabad to show solidarity as they have no other item to share with the Prime Minister except to demonstrate the support to the Prime Minister in tangible terms when democracy and the constitution of the country is being threatened.
The Prime Minister is constitutionally elected by the mandate of the people of the country, they added.
The Prime Minister thanked the Chief Minister of Balochistan and his Cabinet members for their solid support which in a way is coming from the entire province.
"I am proud of you the Chief Minister and your Cabinet members," said the Prime Minister adding, "together we will solidify the edifice of democracy in the country and all dangers to democracy will be met and thwarted with determination."
The Prime Minister said opposition should demonstrate maturity as haste and confrontational posture in politics will undermine the politicians as a class and democracy alike.
The Prime Minister appreciated Senator Moulana Muhammad Khan Sherani and Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, MNA for their principled stand who did not walk out from the House when Prime Minister was about to deliver his speech at the floor of the House.
Those who were present during the meeting included, Sabir Ali Baloch, Deputy Chairman Senate, Federal Ministers Qamar Zaman Kaira, Farooq H. Naek, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Mian Manzoor Wattoo, Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Sardar Al-Haj Mohammad Umer Gorgage, Senators Barrister Nawabzada Saifullah Khan Magsi, Yousaf Baloch, Rozi Khan Kakar, Minister of State for Industries and Productions Ayatullah Durrani and Humayun Aziz Kurd, MNA.
