imageRAWALPINDI: The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) on Tuesday discussed threadbare the operational situation at the borders and expressed in unequivocal terms, that territorial integrity of the country would be safeguarded at all cost.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Khalid Shameem Wynne presided over the meeting held here at the Joint Staff Headquarters.

Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt alongwith senior military officers from the three services attended the meeting.

The emerging geo-strategic environment, internal security along with matters related to tri-service operational readiness were discussed at length, said an ISPR press release.

The JCSC is a platform to discuss, exchange and evaluate opinions of services chief on the operational preparedness of the armed forces.

Being a quarterly moot of senior military leadership, it focuses on all the issues related to the national security challenges being faced by the country.
