KARACHI: Senior Advisor for Interior Affairs Rehman Malik said the government was completing five years tenure on the basis of its policies and will be elected again for another five years in the coming elections on the similar grounds.
Talking to media at the State Guest House here Sunday, he said that PPP and its allies will form the next government. "We are completing five years which is a sufficient evidence that our policies are correct", he added.
He said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated investigation against Nawaz Sharif for a case in which London High Court found him guilty. This is the case for which he (Nawaz Sharif) sought an apology from the pervious government and went abroad after a pardon agreement, he observed.
He said that Nawaz Sharif had fabricated false cases against to defame Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari during his tenure. In addition, he also implicated both of them by writing false letters to Swiss court. He must seek apology from the nation on his misdeeds, Malik noted.
The Senior Advisor said that he will submit proofs of corruption against Nawaz Sharif whenever summoned by the court. We are ready to face the courts but will not bow down due to pressure tactics.
He also advised electronic channels to be in limits while making mockery of President of Pakistan, Prime Minister or him (Interior Advisor). "I will meet media owners in this regard and tell them that they can be summoned in the court through libel cases. I have filled a case for defamation in the court for Rs 10 billion compensation. I have also asked my legal team to prepare for defamation cases against irresponsible media campaigners", he added.
Referring to Mohabbat Sindh rally, he said that all rallies should be peaceful. The government will take action, if the participants of any rally try to take law into their hands, he opined.
He said they are our brothers, but they should not break the law. The law will take its own course, if they break it, he suggested.
Malik said he has sufficient proof that a group is trying to create political polarisation in the province and therefore instigating nationalists. I have sufficient evidences that money was used for this purpose, he stated.
Replying to a question, he said that Nawaz Sharif was following double standards on national politics. He went abroad when the nation needed him for consultation on NATO supplies decision, the Interior Advisor remarked. He said the Wikkie leaks have exposed him when US Ambassador wrote that he and Imran Khan listen to him and support.
He said law and order situation in Punjab was worsts and Shahbaz Sharif must focus on it rather than criticising the center.
