hina yang jiechi 400BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minster Yang Jiechi has said that his country will work with Pakistan to follow through on the agreement reached between the leaders of the two countries, consolidate traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, and bring China-Pakistan strategic cooperative partnership to a new high.       Yang expressed these views while meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meetings in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, said a statement posted at the Chinese Foreign Ministry website on Wednesday.

Yang Jiechi said that Pakistan is China's all-weather strategic cooperative partner. In the past 61 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, however international and regional situation and domestic situation in the two countries have changed, China and Pakistan have rendered each other mutual respect and mutual support. At present, bilateral relations have maintained sound momentum of growth and gained greater strategic significance.

Hina Rabbani Khar said that Pakistan-China relations are of great strategic significance. Pakistan attaches great importance to Pakistan-China cooperative partnership. It is committed to making Pakistan-China relations an example in friendship and cooperation between two countries.  China and Pakistan have frequent high-level mutual visits, productive cooperation, and deepening people-to-people friendship. she said adding Pakistan wants to work with China and enhance Pakistan-China all-dimensional cooperation.

The two sides agreed that China and Pakistan have similar or same positions on many international and regional issues of common interest and will continue to maintain close communication and support with each other at various multilateral occasions including ASEAN Regional Forum.
