KARACHI: Pakistan has released 311 Indian fishermen from Malir District Jail here on Wednesday as goodwill gesture.
These fishermen were detained for fishing illegally in Pakistani water.
The released fishermen will go to Lahore through buses and later they will be handed over to Indian Authorities at Wagha border.
They were also provided with necessary items and gifts by the officials and local NGOs.
Provincial Minister for Law and Prisons Iyaz Soomro was visited the jail on the departure of the fishermen.
Talking to media on the occasion, Iyaz Soomro hoped that India would reciprocate and release Pakistani fishermen detained in Indian jails.
