 KARACHI: At least 11 people, including a police constable, were killed on Friday in various areas of Karachi in separate incidents of firing, according to our sources.

Unknown motorcyclists killed a man in Garden area in the near of the Garden police station early in the morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Razaq, 30. His body was later shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

Another young man was gunned down in the Garden area by unknown attackers.

Police said that some armed men intercepted Ayub,47, near the Fawara Chowk and shot him and fled. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi.

Garden police also found the body of a young man whose identity could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

Police said that the body bore marks of torture, adding that he had been shot before his corpse was dumped in the Garden police precincts. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for post-mortem examination.

A police constable was gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists near Banaras Chowk in the remits of the Peerabad police station

The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Abdul Qayum. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Separately, a man was gunned down in the Digar Nagar area in the remits of Mominabad police station. The deceased was identified as Sajjad, 35. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospoital for autopsy.

Police Officials said that the victim was going somewhere when he was attacked. Police said that they have registered an FIR.

A 25-year-old man identified as Atif was gunned down on Jahangir Road in the limits of the Jamshed Quarters police limits. Police said that Atif was shot several times.

Police also said that the deceased was a relative of Ahmad Magsi, a leader of the defunct People's Amn Committee (PAC).

An eledery man was killed by firing of unidentified men in the limits of the PIB police station. The deceased was identified as Perzada, 40, alias Piro. He was said to be an uncle of Ahmad Magsi. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Another man was killed in Korangi No6 in the jurisdiction of the Awami Colony police station. The victim was later identified as 35-year old Mirza Azizi Baig. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

A 52-year-old man, Saleem, was injured in the jurisdiction of Super Market police station. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

An unidentified man was gunned down in Natha Khan Goth near Mardan Chowk in the limits of Shah Faisal Town police station. In another incident, a man was killed and six others injured when unknown gunmen opened fire in the Hasan Square area in the limits of the New Town police station.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained. The injured were identified as Sheraz, Noor Mohammad, Naveed Bukhari, Zahid, Imran, Fazal Wahid and Abdul Hadi.

Meanwhile, a man who was injured in a firing incident the other day succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. He was identified as Abbas Ali Zaidi.
