KARACHI: Inspector General Police Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Shah suspected that the deceased Superintendent Police (SP) Admn East Shah Mohammad Shah might have been targeted for taking part in the operation in Lyari area.

Talking to media during visit to the site of attack on SP and his friend in Korangi area here Monday, he said that 4-6 assailants riding on motorbikes opened fire on his car from close range.

SP Admn East Shah Mohammad Shah and his friend Dr Dilshad were attacked near Bengali Camp in Korangi 3-1/2 afternoon.

IG said that the SP was shot in targeted attempt.
