ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said Pakistan desired to expand its economic, trade and defence cooperation with Comoros as it was the largest exporter of rice and other foodstuff to the country.

The Prime Minister was talking to Abdul Rauf, Honorary Consul of Comoros, who called on him at the PM House here.

He appreciated the support of Comoros Government for Pakistan's candidature for various international organizations, including the United Nation Security Council's non-permanent seat 2012-13.

The Prime Minister invited the Prime Minister of Comoros to visit Pakistan and asked the Honorary Consul to convey his best wishes to him.

Abdul Rauf highlighted the immense potential that existed between the two countries as Comoros needed engineers, doctors and management leaders to help in the process of its socio-economic development.
