KARACHI: A division Bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) Friday issued notices to respondents for May 8 on a petition against police operation in Lyari.
The bench comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Nadeem Akhtar after preliminary hearing of the petition, filed by Salahuddin Advocate, ordered issuance of notices to respondents including Home Secretary, Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh and Senior Superintendent of Police, (SSP-CID) Chaudhry Aslam.
The petitioner submitted that the police was conducting operation against peaceful and innocent citizens of Lyari which is against the fundamental rights protected under the constitution.
He prayed the court to declare Lyari police operation against the law.
